ReTake is a sampler for people who want to make something before they lose the idea.

Record a sound, throw in a WAV file, let ReTake slice it up and start playing. That is basically the whole point.

You can record your voice, an instrument, a weird noise from your room or something you probably should not have recorded in the first place. ReTake automatically divides it into playable slices, which you can trigger using MIDI or your computer keyboard.

Samples can be pitched across different notes without changing their length. You can adjust the envelope, reverse a single part or the entire recording, and turn almost any sound into an instrument within seconds.

There is also a Live Mode, which lets you play incoming audio and change its pitch in real time. So yes, you can talk into a microphone and immediately turn yourself into a badly tuned synthesizer. Or a beautifully tuned one. That part is up to you.

ReTake works as both a standalone application and a VST3 plugin. The interface is intentionally simple. No endless menus, no unnecessary workflow and no manual you need to study before making a sound.
